Going Live: Games I plan to play on my 360

Tue Jun 9, 2009, 11:22 AM
Okay, so I mentioned before my main log that I will be doing a little gaming on my Xbox 360 (when it arrives), now I'll let you know what I plan to play. Anything else that I might play will show up on my Gamercard, you may examine it at your leisure to see what else I've played and what I've accomplished. :3

Currently what I have in my possession:
Sonic Unleashed (Some straightforward action to balance out a bunch of online games) I need not say why I'm playing this, it's obvious that I'm a Sonic Fan, nuff said. I've given it a try before, and I like it.

Mass Effect (A tad more in-depth action for when I want to play something that is more involved) I like a good game that lets you go about exploring worlds and killing things with awesome technology.

The Orange Box ((Team Fortress 2)) (Nothing like blowing people away in a mining company setting. XD Seriously, look it up...there's a lot of content around it) Probably gonna take it easy with this one, I'm not so hot when it comes to FPS titles. ((By the way, The Orange Box is a collection of games released by Valve. It's their best content...Half-life, Portal, TF2.))

Downloadables:
Star Trek: D.A.C (Balls to the wall space dogfighting between the Federation and the Romulans, which is all based off the current film.) I will most likely take the side of the Romulans...if you happen to like Starfleet, I suggest you watch your nacelles at all times! ...Did I mention I like Star Trek? O . o ?

I will be able to access online multiplayer gaming for about...13 months! :3 If you happen to be playing a certain online game I may have, please feel free to invite me or something, I may just drop what I'm doing to play a couple of rounds with you. (Remember, I'll only play something I have or I am familiar with)

Oh! One other thing: I may be able to access some of the older Xbox titles (Crimson Skies is one of them, I assume I can play that online using my original copy instead of downloading it from the marketplace...a trial is required before I can verify this one). If you happen to have something that is older and can be accessed through Xbox Live, let me know.

If you have Gamertag, please feel free to let me know what it is and I'll add you, because you're my buddies on DA. :D

YES! I finally got my 360 back, and last weekend I got to set everything up so I didn't have to do it when it arrived. :3 YAY! This is quite exciting! ^.^

Alright, so it's been a couple of days and I've had quite a bit of fun playing some of the games I got. I've played a fair amount of the games I have (except the Orange Box, which I'll play this weekend), so I think I'll tell you what I think of the games I've played.

Sonic Unleashed:
So I've played a number of the 3D Sonic games, some of which are awesome...some of which I could really care less about (Sorry to say that, but even I know where to draw my lines), and this game is one of the awesome 3D titles. So far, the game has proved to be both fun and challenging, that keeps things interesting. The game offers speedy stages that allow you to prove Sonic's incredible speed, and the slow ass-kicker stages that take Sonic's Were-beast form for a spin (for me, it's a scaled down God of War). I've still got a ways to go really clear through the majority of the game, but I've made some headway though. (Considering a hiatus on gameplay, mounting frustration and ridiculous requirements are killing my enjoyment and completion of this game.)

Mass Effect:
Leave it to Bioware to throw a lot of choices at you in their games! If you've ever tried Jade Empire or Knights of the old republic, you'll get the idea that choices affect the outcome and overall feel of the game. Mass Effect proves that, and with many choices in dialog and actions, it's a possibility that you'll back through everything once again to see what happens. The game itself offers a lot of challenging missions and tough enemies to take down, but it's still good fun in the end. Of course, you'd have to be careful about what you do in the game. (Game Complete - Second playthrough a possibility)

Star Trek D.A.C.:
Phaser fire, torpedoes, mines, disruptor blasts, explosions galore! Nothing like a good old battle in space against two prominent factions from the Star Trek universe. Taking on Romulan or Federation ships has never been this fun, or this fast paced. I'm a real sucker for this game, because it's just so easy to pick up right away, but it takes a little while to really master the controls and the weaponry. Tactics are a must though, you'll need to keep an eye out for your enemy...and try not to be the red shirt of the team...that wouldn't look too good on your service record. xD (If you got the "Red Shirt" bit, good for you!)

The Orange Box - Team Fortress 2:
I have to say that playing TF2 is awesome. Sure, the game requires you to plan out your attacks and watch your ass for the enemy (Spies and Snipers = dead player!). Selecting the right class is definitely key to success, especially when you need to capture control points. The biggest thing you would need to do is: Help out your team! If you're an engie (short for Engineer), grab some metal and build up them devices, or support your fellow engie and stop a sapper. Going Heavy? Take a Medic with you, you'll last a hell of a lot longer. Gotta grab the point for the win? Scout is your man, along with a Spy too. Spies sapping your sentries or stabbing your back? Pyro is there to check out the situation. Explosives a must? Demoman and Soldier are on the job to clean house. Wanna pick off your target from a distance? Sniper is your man (just watch your back!). Pick your class, and get ready for one hell of a fight.

Blue Dragon:
Old is gold! Something about Blue Dragon had really peaked my interest a couple weeks ago, and it wasn't because it was reasonably priced. Since I was looking for a seriously long and epic RPG for the 360, I picked this up and I found that I couldn't stop playing. x3 Anytime I find a game that has an unusual story that you pretty much need to uncover yourself, I insist upon continuing my playthrough so I can find out what else is going on. This title is no exception, for it's just chock full of goodies! 3 discs long, and hours of fighting, discovery, and oddities keep me coming back for more. Since it's an RPG, there are many things to consider (or things we've learned from RPGs for that matter...which there's a lot of them if you're wondering). The setting of the game isn't too special, just another out of the way world where magic and technology are commonplace among each other (not totally sure how that all works, but it's pretty cool though). Everything is mostly relics that are thousands of years old (stuff that nobody should mess with, but we never learn from that mistake). The main antagonist is your typical power-mongering psycho, but with the added twist of being ancient! The protagonist are teenagers (Hmm...wasn't this done before) who are caught up in something far bigger than their initial plot to stop some raging beast from leveling their village. It's a huge adventure that leads into some seriously bizarre events, and amazingly ancient structures that remain mysteries to everyone. It's such a great game, and it holds a lot of awesome secrets and other stuff as well. :3

I will get a chance to play more games in the future...what I play depends on what I can get my hands on (either borrowing or buying used copies...it's worth it though!).

Remember, my gamertag for Xbox Live is Yoshimi Sugai.
